"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury; we will now hear closing arguments." Even the most experienced trial lawyer may inwardly quake when the judge utters these fateful words. But what makes for an effective closing? Do closings even matter? When should you object? Should you really start preparing your closing the day you get a new case? These are questions that are not addressed in law school; and even today lawyers seeking guidance are forced to rely on the conventional wisdom and time-worn adages passed down from generation to generation.
Now we are offering a program featuring a 30-year courtroom veteran who will demystify closings and teach you how to pull victory from the jaws of defeat by making a killer closing argument. You will learn why closings matter; what arguments are radioactive; and what arguments are so powerful they are grounds for a mistrial (and why you should make them anyway).
This teleconference will conclude with three examples of great closings from acknowledged masters of the art; and you will learn precisely what made these arguments so powerful. By investing 90 minutes in this teleconference; you'll be able to make a closing argument that does what a closing argument is supposed to do - persuade a jury!
